The Berkeley Partnership

Berkeley gets to grips with London's polyclinics

Berkeley has been working alongside Healthcare for London and specifically with two local PCTs to help deliver the first wave of polyclinics across the capital.

Berkeley has direct experience in the mobilisation, delivery and benefits work required to make these projects a success. Consultants' involvement in these projects has been wide ranging, from hands on day to day project management through to quality assurance and review.

Through this work, Berkeley has developed a deep understanding of the issues PCTs face in getting their polyclinic strategy right. Issues such as:

  • how to respond to the challenge of being more ambitious in the number and pace of delivery of polyclinics
  • how to work with the Sector Acute Commissioning Vehicles
  • getting the strategy right on the number, size and type of polysystems required across PCTs to make the shift in activity from the acute setting
  • understanding the financial implications of polyclinics and the impact of any change of care setting across the PCT.

Berkeley has a long history of working in the health sector, and has supported a range of PCTs in primary care areas including World Class Commissioning, Long Term Conditions and urgent care.

You can read more about Berkeley's wider health experience in the case studies pages.
