Profile
I graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in Marketing and French, keen to get involved in commerce opportunities prompted by the creation of the EU. My early career at Accenture enabled me to do just that, working across Europe for clients such as Compaq, GSK, and GEC Alsthom.
In 1996, I pursued an opportunity in the US to bring a new technology to market. I spent a hectic year evaluating the commercial opportunity, after which, being in the midst of a very exciting business climate in California, I elected to continue in consulting and worked with clients such as Microsoft, HP and Levi Strauss. I also got involved in true start-up operations, helping them get from concept to fully operational businesses.
In 2002, I came back to the UK and joined Berkeley. Berkeley was just what I was looking for; the right blend of accountability and control, within a supportive framework that allowed me to tap into the experiences of my colleagues when needed. My 15 years consulting experience enables me to bring a broad perspective to a problem, coupled with a desire to ensure that solutions are eminently practical.
Outside work, I love to travel. I'm willing to have a go at any language, especially in the pursuit of food and wine. With family links to the wine industry, there is always an excuse to further the research!
