Dave Machin talks Projects
The current climate has altered the relationship between consultants and their clients, not least in the world of project management. Under ever greater pressure to deliver programmes faster, at lower cost, clients are placing ever greater demands on those who support them.
Dave Machin talked to Project magazine, the Association for Project Management (APM) journal, about the changes he's seen in client's approaches to running large scale change programmes. Changes which include:
- a demand for swift delivery and results, especially supporting cost reduction programmes;
- greater emphasis on skills transfer, allowing the organisation to upskill its people;
- the need to leverage value from all engagements, to get best value for money from their suppliers;
- and interest in creative ways of funding projects, such as the sharing of risk - and reward.
