What's new

New year, new partner, new joiners...

The end of 2009 was busy, busy, busy here at Berkeley Towers.  We had two new recruits joining the team as well as a new partner!

Firstly, we are thrilled to announce that Richard Marsden has become Berkeley's 15th partner.  To read Richard's full profile, go to the people area of the website but as a starter for ten, here is a quick insight...

Holding a Masters degree in chemical engineering, Richard began his career as a Safety Engineer. However, on concluding that a white coat did not suit him, he made the move into consultancy and has now been consulting for over 12 years.  Since joining Berkeley in 2004, Richard has worked in the energy and financial services sectors,  developing strategies and implementing large back office derivatives trading systems.  Most recently, he has been developing Berkeley's work in the NHS - quite a contrast to the world of engineering! One of his most notable achievements was taking on a demanding but rewarding role as Project Manager supporting the development and construction of one of London's first polyclinics.   Richard has gone on to support a number of the Capital's polysystem programmes.

When not revelling in the challenges of the NHS, Richard is a keen sports enthusiast, though more often as a spectator than as a player.  He is also an avid Twitterer!

Secondly, a big Berkeley Welcome  to Tom  Parkin  and James  Bellamy!   To see their complete profiles, go to the people section of the website or click through from their names below, but as a "getting to know you better exercise", we asked for their likes and dislikes - we asked Richard too

Tom Parkin:

Likes: Classic British sports cars, France and raisins in my spaghetti bolognaise!

Dislikes: Breaking down in classic British sports cars, people replying in English when I speak French and anyone else's spaghetti bolognaise.

Anything else we should know Tom? I once narrated a TV show for the Discovery Channel...it was a short lived media career.

James Bellamy:

Likes:  Food and drink, music, film, photography, playing squash, mountain biking and snowboarding.

Dislikes: Football, R’n’B and speed bumps.

Anything else we should know James? I am a bit of a nerd at heart, but after a ten year campaign by my girlfriend to educate me in the arts, I am now able to hold my own in art galleries and understand plot lines in independent foreign films.

Richard Marsden:

Likes:  Football (Blackburn Rovers), in fact watching pretty much all sport and playing the occasional round of golf.  I also enjoy the odd glass of wine and messing about with my music collection in iTunes (my sister worked for Radio 1, I have a lot of music!)

Dislikes:  Carrots, they are orange and evil!

Anything else we should know Richard?  I picked up a classic Porsche 928S in the pub for a pint last year, quite a conversation that one.

New year, new partner, new joiners...
