Project reviews can help minimise the risks associated with large and complex programmes. Berkeley has a 20 year track record of running and reviewing major programmes of change.
Below are just a few examples of projects where, in a short space of time, Berkeley has helped clients secure the successful delivery of their most critical change projects.
Using this knowledge and experience of what makes a project succeed or fail, Berkeley has developed a diagnostic tool that will help you to self-assess the health of your project or programme. It may be a useful first step to help identify any areas of a programme that need attention. Feel free to give it a try, and do get in touch if it highlights areas for improvement that you’d like to explore further.
Delivering an exchange traded futures & options platform
This global organisation was implementing a new OpenLink platform to manage its global exchange traded derivatives business. Two years in, the programme got into serious difficulty with major schedule slippages and mounting costs. Business confidence was severely tested and support began to waiver.
Within just a week, a ‘high-spot’ review identified serious and widespread issues. A full assurance review and re-plan was commissioned that resulted in material interventions around scope, solution design; delivery approach; organisation, third parties; governance and programme leadership.
Following implementation of the recommendations of the review, the project subsequently went live in line with the revised plan and budget.

For a global fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) organisation
Berkeley was engaged to review a programme delivering a global financial consolidation solution that would consolidate and report the group’s finances directly from 600+ operating companies across 100+ countries in a single, global system. A big-four consulting firm had been engaged, but the programme was proving much more difficult than envisaged.
Berkeley led a review in just three weeks, and interviewed all key team and steering group members. We identified the key issues with the programme, and recommended a series of remedial activities to get the programme back on track. The programme was subsequently delivered on time, against a recommended re-plan.
