Programme Manager, Channel 4

I moved to work for Channel 4 in 2007 where I head up technology and business change for online/web, audience insight and business intelligence. I am responsible for changes to and support of our core websites and business intelligence solutions, as well as delivery within the new executive function of audience insight. I left Berkeley in late 2006 having been there for nearly six years.

My first job out of university was with Accenture where I spent time developing systems. After five and half years I decided I wanted to find a new challenge, work in a different environment, and somewhere where I could feel more part of the company. I had a couple of friends who were working at Berkeley – I talked to them about what life was like there, spoke to one of the partners and within two weeks I had a job offer and resigned straight away! The thing that struck me when I joined was how friendly and bright everyone was and at the same time having a very strong drive to ensure that the highest level of work was done.

The other big thing was everyone’s strong integrity around the work – the right answer was key even if that meant delivering a difficult message and for me this resonated strongly. In a marketplace it’s difficult to find people you can trust and I know during my time at Berkeley building trust with clients was paramount. Overall, I know that I developed and learnt a lot during my time, and now have broader skills and a wider set of experiences which help me every day.
