After studying Engineering at Cambridge University, I started my consultancy career as an IT developer – Monday morning and Friday afternoon flights to a trading estate outside Glasgow feature in my memory quite prominently. A brief period with a web based start-up and then an MBA at Oxford University, I realised that consulting is what I enjoyed, and I joined Deloitte’s technology advisory practice.
I now have over nine years consultancy experience, having worked across most central government departments, as well as shorter stints within the energy, finance and aviation sectors. I have been involved in multi-billion pound programmes as well as delivering smaller projects. My focus has been across the outsourcing lifecycle, looking at requirements development, vendor selection through to delivery assurance. I am experienced in early stage programme set up, including strategy, business cases, planning and mobilisation.
Outside work, I’m forever embarking on an overly complex DIY project, attempting to kite surf without being blown out to the shipping lanes in the English Channel and enjoying my young son discover life.
