Simon Bampfylde
Consultant
I graduated from Cambridge with a social science degree. I then spent a year working in executive search followed by a year skiing and travelling. I then studied for a Masters at the London School of Economics before joining Capgemini as a consultant in 2003.
It was the variety of work that attracted me to consulting, and my experiences so far have definitely been varied! Setting up a new telecom company in Eastern Europe, designing new IT processes in a grey Telford business park, or working in the glamorous global headquarters of a premium fashion brand; consulting has let me experience a range of sectors and project roles. In 2008 I took a year out from consulting to take on an internal job managing a global business change programme for a major bank.
I joined Berkeley in 2009 attracted by the intelligent smiling people, and the feeling that this company was genuinely a bit different from the typical consulting firm.
Outside of work my first passion has always been the mountains, especially in the winter. I am a qualified ski instructor and an enthusiastic but technically incompetent snowboarder.
