Ed Mackey
Consultant
After finishing my Philosophy with Maths degree at Edinburgh I spent a couple of years getting the travelling bug out of my system before starting work, choosing a career in consultancy for the challenging and varied work, with the added bonus of no more exams!
I started consultancy in 2003 with Detica and have worked on a number of major technology-enabled business transformation programmes across both the Telecoms and National Security sectors. I joined Berkeley at the start of 2009 because all of the people I met resonated with my personal values and it offered the opportunity to work with senior clients in a highly challenging but supportive environment.
Outside of work, I have been taking ‘cooking from scratch’ to the lowest level possible, growing as much as I can in my tiny garden in Battersea and dabbling in ‘amateur charcuterie’ making my own sausages, salami and hams. I also have a very understanding wife, who is both incredibly patient and accommodating of my drive to tear out all of her pretty flowers and replace them with more edible varieties of plant.
