Jennifer Johnston
Consultant
In 2000 I graduated from the University of Warwick with a Masters Degree in Physics and decided to try the consulting world. It offered me the chance to work in a range of roles, and more importantly, didn’t involve any further exams.
It’s a choice I have never regretted as I have the opportunity to be involved in some fantastic projects, and the different challenges that arise from each role mean that every day is different and I continue to learn new skills and build my industry experience.
On leaving university I joined Accenture, working primarily in their Financial Services Division. A broad base of assignments allowed me to see all facets of the industry, and I’ve worked with leading names in retail banking, investment banking and wealth management. One of my most interesting projects was working on a £10m Microfinance Programme across Africa and Asia. Setting up a Private sector partnership with 2 leading international NGOs to deliver the programme was incredibly rewarding and has triggered a personal commitment to financial inclusion.
I joined Berkeley because I wanted to expand my industry experience beyond Financial Services, taking on interesting and challenging roles with great clients – it hasn’t disappointed as I have since worked with some of the world’s largest companies in retail and FMCGs, helping them deliver large Change Programmes successfully.
Outside of work, you’ll most likely catching me on a ski slope or fighting the crowds as I run along the Southbank.
