Is Berkeley right for you? Big rewards. Better prospects.

Berkeley is a different consulting choice.

We're looking for great consultants. We don’t recruit for functional expertise or industry specialism, but for core consulting skills and adaptability. You’ll be expected to work outside of your comfort zone, applying your intellect and your analytical and consulting skills to new business problems and business sectors. You'll be supported along the way by partners and fellow consultants to deliver great results for the client.

What’s vital is your proven ability to manage projects independently and integrate effectively with clients at all levels, building lasting relationships. Berkeley consultants have confidence based on their experience and social skills, enabling them to adapt quickly to new situations and to gain the respect of their colleagues and clients.

Berkeley is a different consulting choice

We do things differently. This suits our people down to the ground, but we know it’s not for everyone. If you like the idea of being free to do the best possible job for your clients, unencumbered by sales targets, silos, politics or internal workload, then we might be right for you. If you want challenge, autonomy and the opportunity to develop, but tempered with close support from your partners and consultant peers, then Berkeley could be the perfect choice.

A decision to join Berkeley is very important – for you and for us

Our reputation is built on the quality of our people. That’s why we put so much effort into recruitment. Over three interviews, you’ll meet four partners, and if we make you an offer, you’ll get the chance to meet some of our consultants. Our interview process is robust and should stretch you, but this is a two way process so there is plenty of opportunity for you to build rapport with the partners (we're all very friendly). Ultimately, we want to help you understand Berkeley so you can make the right choice for you.

Whilst culture fit and personality are important elements in our hiring process, our starting point is to ensure you have the necessary consulting skills and experience to work effectively with our clients and Berkeley colleagues. So, while it may seem obvious, we will ask you for evidence of the following.

You will be

  • Working in a management consultancy firm, or with recent experience of having done so (within the last 2-3 years) at Manager or Senior Manager grade or equivalent
  • Able to work in the UK.

You will have

  • Strong consulting experience
  • Experience of managing and leading project teams of at least five
  • An excellent academic record.

We believe that there’s nothing like self-motivation for bringing out the best in people, but we still make sure you know just how much we value your work.

You’ll start with us on a competitive salary, and you can look forward to annual pay rises that reflect your personal development. We aim to hire only the best people and so there’s no ‘forced distribution’ – and room for everyone to do well.

In return we offer

  • 30 days annual leave plus all English bank/public holidays
  • 8% non-contributory pension plan
  • Private medical insurance for you and your family
  • Comprehensive life assurance
  • 26 weeks (six months) paid maternity leave on full pay (available from day one)
  • Four weeks paid paternity leave on full pay (available from day one)
  • Up to 16 weeks paid shared parental leave, within the first 12 months of the child's birth, on full pay
  • Annual health and wellbeing benefit of £300
  • Five discretionary days per annum to work with our charity partners
  • Flexible working
  • Ongoing training and development throughout your career
  • A supportive and collegiate environment
  • Regular and inclusive social events
