1Why did you join Berkeley?

I joined Berkeley for two main reasons – the way Berkeley works and the work that Berkeley does. Berkeley’s collaborative culture was hugely appealing to me, as was the emphasis on always doing the right thing for clients.

My career up until joining Berkeley had predominantly focused on IT-enabled business transformation programs in the insurance industry. I was keen to broaden my focus beyond this and to become a more rounded consultant – Berkeley offered me the opportunity to do this.
 

2What types of engagement excite you the most?

Anything that is complicated, challenging and a client’s top priority! Whether it is creating a new customer strategy or implementing an ERP system, in manufacturing or financial services, I am really motivated by taking on a client’s most difficult and important work – helping them to distil it down into more manageable components, working out how to deliver it successfully, and then delivering it!

3Why did you become a management consultant?

I became a management consultant because I really didn’t know what I wanted to do after leaving university! I felt that management consultancy would give me a great opportunity to learn about lots of different industries and businesses and help me decide what ‘proper job’ would suit me best. I am still consulting, helped in no small part by the fantastic people I get to work with and the variety of interesting and exciting work I get to be involved in.
