Following a degree in Education Studies and Maths from Cambridge University, I decided to follow my childhood dream and became a secondary Maths teacher. Although I hugely enjoyed the teaching (and who doesn’t love simultaneous equations?), after a few years I decided to try the world of management consultancy and haven’t looked back.
I spent the first eight years of my consultancy career at KPMG working with some brilliant clients on a broad range of projects including streamlining/cost-reduction, process improvement, behavioural change and quality assurance. Building on this great introduction to consultancy, I joined The Berkeley Partnership as I was attracted to their focus on collaborative working and the strong commitment to always do the right thing by the client.
Increasingly attracted to change and programme management, I now specialise in large transformation programmes and have been fortunate enough to work on some complex programmes including the high-profile safety and security programme for the London Olympics. I also enjoy the challenges of complex change management and, most recently, managed the roll-out of a national IT system across the UK.
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family – if that time can involve sun, snow or travel then so much the better. Although I must confess that I’ve swapped my bug infested backpacking days to more civilised travelling experiences!
