Having graduated from Dublin City University with a degree in International Marketing, French and Spanish, I started my career working for Lloyds TSB Retail Banking. However I quickly realised I wanted something more business focused and moved to Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in 1997.
The following ten years took me all over the world and across several industry sectors working for FTSE 100 clients. It was a terrific grounding in programme and change management but after almost ten years, I knew I needed a new type of challenge.
I joined Berkeley in 2007, and since joining, have worked on a series of incredibly interesting engagements for organisations as diverse as BP, Unilever, Xerox and the UK’s Home Office. I have worked across the full programme and project delivery life cycle including assurance reviews and programme turnaround. I’ve also helped firms with some fascinating operating model design and implementation challenges.
I have a particular passion for change management and team effectiveness and have been fortunate enough to work with a number of our clients to successfully deliver some of their biggest change challenges. These have included driving major culture change at an international financial regulator and helping the leadership team responsible for 12% of the UK’s daily rail journeys be at their most effective in an intensely challenging operational environment.
Along the way, I have become a qualified executive coach and work with Board level individuals and those in significant stretch roles, helping them and their teams bring their best to bear on the most challenging and demanding situations.
Outside of work, I love travel and have been lucky enough to travel extensively, most recently in America. On the side, I have just completed a part time Masters in Theology which will get put to good use with the church charities I am involved with. It also means I am now eagerly planning how to put all that newly acquired free time to good use!
