After graduating from Manchester University with a psychology degree (and after several months of travelling around South America), I started my consulting career by joining PwC’s consulting graduate scheme in 2011. I spent three years here working on a range of projects across all industries but started to focus more on Financial Services clients and working with the CFO and Finance teams.
After getting my fill of travelling around the world (four countries in 4 days being my personal limit), I found that I really enjoyed being at the heart of change within organisations. After a fortuitous phone call with Deloitte, I found myself a part of a newly formed Financial Services advisory team in 2014. I spent the next three years getting a real insight into the industry and helping clients to work through ever changing regulatory requirements and the tempestuous change that came alongside these. I worked on large post-merger integrations, structural reform and focussed on stakeholder engagement and programme management.
I joined Berkeley in 2017 as the opportunity of doing real “high value” consulting was too good to pass up. Coupled with this was the ability to completely focus on our clients and their needs, with minimal distractions on our time, and the ethos of doing the right thing by the client has rung true throughout my time here. We’re able to use our ethos to make sure we deliver the right results for the client without any conflicts with targets and objectives.
Outside of work, I’m a newly addicted runner, which is nicely balanced out with lots of time spent with family and friends, often revolving around food and drinks. Although the backpack has retired, I still very much enjoy travelling, albeit at a slightly better standard of accommodation these days!
