After graduating form Oxford University in 2004 with a degree in Engineering and Computer Science I joined Detica (latterly BAE Systems Applied Intelligence), a niche IT consultancy which was still relatively small at the time, but growing fast. Over 14 years I worked on a wide variety of systems development and integration projects, largely focussed on the public sector. Highlights included setting up a 30 year support arrangement for the UK fleet of submarine communications receivers and working with senior MOD stakeholders on the next generation of military communications satellite receivers. More recently I led several internal change programmes including improving maturity of project management capability and management of the knowledge transfer required to move 150 engineering roles between two European countries without disrupting business.
I joined Berkeley in October 2018 to broaden both my experience across new customers and industries and to work on the problems which really make a difference to the success of our clients’ businesses. I also wanted to get back to working with a small dedicated team of people who are individually excellent and collectively great to work with.
Outside of work I have a wife and small toddler, who keep me busy in most of my free time. When I do manage to grab some time, I can be found cycling, running, doing DIY, or practising my chosen sport of target rifle shooting, where I have represented Great Britain at international level. I also enjoy skiing and can be found looking very ungraceful on the slopes of the Alps at least once a year.
