I have always had an interest in theatre and completed a BA in Theatre Studies at Warwick University. After graduating in 2007, I wasn’t a 100% sure of my career path, but was confident that I wanted to work and deal with people. An opportunity in the world of recruitment presented itself as a good means of achieving this whilst gaining a solid foundation in the commercial world. After a year at Hydrogen placing IT contractors into blue-chip companies, I moved to Robert Walters, recruiting HR professionals into professional and financial services, then was offered an in-house role at RPC (corporate and insurance law firm), where I spent six years.
I joined Berkeley in 2015 to take on the role as People Manager. I was attracted by the mature approach the partnership takes to HR, its values and approach to both clients and colleagues, and its willingness to have honest, open dialogue with staff – and the opportunity to shape and drive HR strategy to support this already strong, collaborative culture greatly appealed to me.
I still have a huge interest in theatre, but now very much as a spectator: and what better city than London to do this in! I’m active, whether Bikram, spin, running or Pilates. I recently married Thom, and together we have bought our first property in Blackheath, so most summer weekends are spent on or around the heath - and winter ones in the wine (red please) bars and coffee shops in the village.
