After studying engineering at the University of Bristol, I decided I was more interested in solving business problems than engineering ones. A career in management consultancy beckoned… I started out at Accenture, where I did lots of work in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as on supply chain and finance system implementations, before making the jump to Berkeley in 2009.
During my time at Berkeley I have supported numerous FTSE100, FTSE250 and similar-sized private organisations to establish new business and technology strategies, redesign their operating models and to deliver major transformation programmes. My clients span the retail, postal, airline and real estate industries. Recent client assignments include: Operating model design and integration of an acquired business for a real estate client, doubling their UK presence; A £130m transformation programme to turn around a loss-making retailer; Development of a new commercial and technology strategy for the Board of a major retailer; and helping a client’s lead team get itself ready for a FTSE 100 IPO.
Over the years I’ve worked in a wide range of locations - my morning commute has varied from leisurely drives over Sydney Harbour Bridge, to walking between snake charmers on the streets of Bangalore. Things are a bit less exotic these days, where I live in North London with my wife and two young children.
