After studying engineering at Bristol University, I decided I would be happier solving business problems rather than engineering ones. A career in management consultancy beckoned…
I spent almost all my pre-Berkeley days at Accenture, working mainly on big IT projects. I joined Berkeley in 2009, and the way Berkeley works with clients is exactly the way I like to…. on their most interesting and challenging assignments, when top quality delivery matters most.
My clients at Berkeley span the postal, oil, retail, and airline industries. I lead work to develop both business and IT strategies, as well as mobilising and leading business transformation programmes through every stage of their lifecycle. I have helped executive teams through some of the most interesting opportunities and challenges that their businesses face. Recently this has included establishing William Hill’s digital strategy, working as part of the team to privatise Royal Mail, and managing a £130m business turnaround for a major high street retailer.
Over the years I’ve worked in a wide range of locations - my morning commute has varied from leisurely drives over Sydney Harbour Bridge, to walking between snake charmers on the streets of Bangalore. In between the more exotic climes, I've spent plenty of time with some great clients through the UK and Europe.
When not grappling with client problems, I enjoy spending my weekends messing around with classic cars- a test of patience if ever there was one. And if that wasn't enough to leave me needing to clean paint or oil from myself just before that important meeting on a Monday morning, my family are in the middle of managing a house renovation too.
