International Men’s Day event raises awareness for wellbeing issues

The Women@Berkeley Network facilitated a discussion event to build inclusion and foster greater allyship within the firm.

Marking International Men’s Day, the Women@Berkeley Network hosted a special discussion forum to raise awareness of issues that can affect our men’s wellbeing, share lived experiences and foster greater allyship.

A panel of consultants and partners shared personal perspectives on a range of topics, including male suicide awareness and prevention, mental health and wellbeing, shared parental leave and workplace culture. The discussion was followed by an open question and answer session.

People from across the firm, including both the London and New York hubs, attended the hybrid event.

Workplaces are communities and Berkeley recognises that both men and women need to be supported and encouraged to bring their best selves to work. Everyone experiences different pressures and vulnerabilities at various points in their lives.”

David added, "International Men’s Day acted as a great catalyst for us to talk to one another about issues that can affect our men’s wellbeing and signpost them to helpful internal and external resources."
