1Why did you join Berkeley?

Prior to joining Berkeley, I’d been a management consultant for over nine years, and was keen to broaden my horizons and test myself in a new environment.

Berkeley instantly grabbed my attention because of two things – its unique business model, and the people that I met during the process. Having the ability to work across a breadth of areas, with a focus on building strong client relationships and making our clients successful, without some of the more cumbersome elements of the role instantly appealed.

It was clear that the culture and ethos at Berkeley was one that I would love to be a part of, with a real focus on being honest with our clients, curious and kind.

2What types of engagements excite you the most?

My favourite projects all have three things in common - scale, impact, and the people.

I have loved working on large data-driven transformations, that sit at the top of clients’ agendas, which impact not only the way that my client works, but also has a material impact on the way that their customers live their lives. The most satisfying roles also enable you to build strong client relationships, and there is nothing better than seeing your client grow, develop, and succeed in their roles.

3What are you passionate about in life?

Outside of work, there’s only one place to start – I’m a massive sports fan. While I enjoy cricket, and to a lesser extent, tennis/rugby/golf/anything on TV, I’ve always been a massive football fan. I support my hometown team (Birmingham City) and can often be found travelling the country going to home and away games. I have a big bucket list full of sporting events, of which I’ve been lucky to tick off a few items so far – the best has to be the Champions League Final in 2011.

While I like to read (particularly books on politics, philosophy, sociology or sports), and love to travel with my ever-adventurous wife, I’m a big fan of podcasts, and always have a long list of recommendations to share!
