1 What's different about Berkeley for you?
During the recruitment process, I realised Berkley’s culture cannot be compared to that of classic consultancies. The absence of traditional sales targets and grading structures shifts the focus away from individual competition and towards shared success. This creates an environment where people are genuinely motivated to learn from one another rather than compete.
I’ve also found there is true variation in experience across the team and people are so open to sharing that knowledge, which creates real opportunities to learn, grow and develop. That sense of camaraderie and support is tangible, and it strengthens both the relationships within the team and the quality of what we deliver to our clients.
2What’s been your favourite piece of work and why?
My favourite piece of work was supporting a magic circle law firm re-set their HR technology transformation plan after an unsuccessful initial go live. This was my favourite piece of work for two reasons – challenging work, which done right would be impactful for the business and working alongside an amazing team of people.
The initial go-live was unsuccessful due to a change in leadership, lack of business buy-in and critical issues with the configuration. In replanning and addressing these problems I worked alongside the business to redesign end-to-end processes, create campaigns to increase engagement with the strategy and technology and incorporate operating model redesign into the technology design. It was a project with challenge and a steep learning curve where it was great to see how the sum of the parts come together and deliver real change.
To make it better, I worked alongside brilliant colleagues and a truly collaborative client, so we were able to really work as one - celebrate successes together and address new problems together. It is in this type of team where you learn the most, deliver the best outcomes and have fun while doing it!
3What are your values and how have they informed your career?
Leading with a listening ear is central to how I work. Everyone brings a unique set of experiences that shape how they approach challenges. Taking the time to understand those perspectives helps me build strong relationships, play to people’s strengths, and deliver better outcomes. It also keeps me open-minded and continuously learning.
I’m also guided by a belief in treating people with kindness and respect. In practice, that means showing up consistently for others, whether that’s offering support, sharing responsibility, or creating an environment where people feel valued and heard.
I also value doing the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest or most popular path. Throughout my career, this has meant making decisions grounded in integrity rather than short-term gain.
These values of listening, empathy, and integrity, shape how I collaborate, lead and contribute.
