1 Why did you join Berkeley?
I came across Berkeley whilst I was looking to for a career change that offered variety and intellectual challenges. Through the interview process I had the chance to speak with four of the partners and the resounding impression was that the work encompassed a broad range of projects in strategy and transformation across sectors, promised the opportunity to work on novel problems and push myself.
During these conversations Berkeley’s values were evident, and I was convinced to it would be the perfect place for me. What stood out to me was the flat structure, emphasis on trust and lack of internal competition mean people are encouraged to share ideas, challenge each other constructively and focus on delivering the best outcome for clients. That really resonated with how I like to work.
2What types of engagements excite you the most?
The engagements that excite me most are complex transformation programmes where there isn’t an obvious answer from the outset. I enjoy working with clients to break down ambiguous problems, bring structure to them and help make confident decisions. I’m particularly interested in programmes that sit between business and technology, whether that’s large-scale transformation, operational improvement, or helping clients deliver critical change. I enjoy working closely with senior stakeholders, understanding what really matters to them and turning strategy into practical outcomes.
What I like most is variety. Every client has different challenges, so there’s always something new to learn and a different perspective to bring.
3Why did you choose your career?
I’ve always enjoyed complex problem-solving and learning about how different organisations work. That’s what first drew me into consulting, every project is different every client has a new challenge, and you’re constantly learning.
What has kept me in consulting and drawn me to Berkeley is the opportunity to make a tangible difference. I enjoy bringing structure to ambiguity, working closely with clients and helping turn big ideas into practical outcomes.
For me it’s a career that combines continuous learning, teamwork and problem-solving, which are the things that find most rewarding.
