After graduating from Loughborough University in 2007 with degrees in electronic engineering and finance and management, I completed the BAE Systems graduate programme in their weapons and vehicles division. After a couple of years, I ended up leading their vehicle dynamics team (lots of time playing with tanks on Salisbury Plain) before I moved on to Analytical Graphics Inc. (AGI) as a Systems and Sales Engineer. AGI is based in the US but I spent the majority of the next two years working my way around Europe, USA, Middle East and India providing consultancy services to users of their modelling and simulation toolset. I was fortunate enough to work on some great projects like the International Space Station and Vanguard nuclear submarines which really taught me a lot about delivering complex solutions in challenging environments!
Following my time at AGI I have spent the last 6 years at PA Consulting Group in one of their IT practices, 3 of which were living in New York and Philadelphia, with frequent travel to Seattle, Chicago, and San Francisco. While I was there I worked with a diverse set of clients and industries including defence and security, utilities, and healthcare. I have worked across IT programme assurance, delivery and strategy – my passion is helping clients cut through complexity and address challenges in innovative ways.
In my off-hours I live in the Shropshire Hills with my wife Ali and dog Toby – we have a smallholding with a small flock of Icelandic sheep and chickens, which keeps us busy. We are both big food/wine lovers and enjoy the outdoors (you have to be where we live!) and we spend any other free time we have renovating our 500-year-old farmhouse.
I joined Berkeley in January 2018 and very much look forward to new and challenging work and to be a part of the legendary Berkeley culture.
