1 Why did you join Berkeley?

For me, joining Berkeley was an opportunity to reconnect with both my clients and the people I work with. While I had enjoyed my time in a large consultancy, more and more projects became staffed with teams spanning time zones and even continents. There were many benefits to these teams, but I found myself missing the in-person interaction and connection that had energized me when I first joined consulting. Berkeley prides itself on creating a strong personal and professional community and that felt like the environment I needed to fully engage with my work and continue my growth.

2 What types of work projects excite you the most?

The work projects that excite me the most span from strategy all the way through implementation. Involvement at the strategy phase allows for creativity in how the business problem is solved while also creating a clearer connection to what path is laid out for implementation. I know all too well the struggle of an implementation program where a disconnected or outdated strategy has left implementation in limbo with the question of "Why are we doing this?" floating around everyone's minds. Delivery and implementation provide a more tangible feeling to the work. I truly enjoy seeing people use and benefit from the platforms and products that I have driven from the beginning.

3 What are you passionate about in life?

In life I am often most happy when I can bring people together, whether in work or in my personal life. Though planning and organizing will stress me out to no end, I love to see those who are important to me together and enjoying whatever it is I have orchestrated. This can manifest as hosting a birthday party on my roof, organizing a dumpling crawl through Chinatown, or even a two-week trip out to Wyoming with eighteen of my friends. Providing people with the opportunity to connect and form shared experiences brings me joy and is something that I have more actively sought out ever since Covid. Joining Berkeley was an opportunity to connect more directly with the people I work with, one that I was happy to take.
