Experience autonomy, collaboration and success.
The Berkeley Partnership is a consulting firm with a difference. Our people are not confined to a single discipline or area. We don’t have junior consultants. And we don’t set sales or utilisation targets. So, how do we work? We specialise in transformation, embracing variety, autonomy and collaboration to help everyone succeed.
You’ll lead both strategy and delivery assignments across different sectors and business areas. With us, you’ll work alongside senior clients and their leadership teams or lead large teams within our client organisations. You could be shaping a strategy, developing a target operating model, delivering the most complex of technology programmes, reinventing a division, building a business case or more.
Variety and complexity is a big part of the job. You’ll be working across sectors and business areas you may not be familiar with yet. Each new assignment will stretch you, building on your skills and helping you become more rounded and effective. That’s why we take great care to match roles to experience levels and consider which projects are best for your development. You’ll always be supported by both your Personal Development Partner and a dedicated Listening Partner, as well as the collective experience of the wider firm.
You’ll be leading your projects, working out what you should do and how you should do it directly with your clients. And while you’ll take accountability and ownership, you won’t be alone. You’ll have the support and expertise of the partners whenever you need it, enabling you to progress at a significant pace.
Our consultants typically take on some of the most important and high-profile roles within our client’s leadership teams. This means with every role, your opinion will be shaping the decisions being made at the top level. As a leader, you’ll be responsible for team members within client teams, without the formality of line management. Instead, you’ll naturally help others to develop and grow your leadership skills gradually. Leadership for us is about building strong senior relationships, understanding different motivations, dealing with complex issues and learning how to navigate ambiguity. With consistent, meaningful support from partners, this exposure will help you to develop your own collaborative leadership style.

How we work with our clients
Our work is usually critical, complex and challenging – and needs to leave a legacy. We draw on our collective experience and judgement to find the right answer every time. This collaborative way of working is supported by our simple organisational structure and flat hierarchy. Our culture is founded on warm, supportive relationships and promotes transparency, trust and teamwork above all else.
Our consultants don’t have utilisation or sales targets, removing unnecessary competition. We minimise bureaucracy, red tape and process, so you can get on with what’s most important: doing the best possible work and building great relationships with our clients. Consultants are highly trusted and have freedom, while partners are always available to give guidance and support as needed. And given Berkeley Partnership’s size and culture, everyone can play an active role in developing the firm.
“I was Interim Director of Data & Analytics during a period of organisational change. I was responsible for successful delivery and a smooth transition to the new director."
Berkeley recognised my prior experience and supported my development to step into a high impact leadership role.
“As Talent Strategy Lead, I worked with leadership to develop a people talent strategy and then as interim Skills and Talent Programme Manager, I helped mobilise the delivery programme."
My Listening partner helped me to ideate and develop the strategy. I was able to draw on internal and external insight, and expertise from across Berkeley.
“I’m managing the divestment of a major division of a retail organisation, working across all functions and leading regular governance meetings."
I’ve held increasingly complex program leadership roles here, with close partner support, and that has equipped me with everything I need to do this role.
