1 Why did you join The Berkeley Partnership?

I joined The Berkeley Partnership because I was looking for an environment where I could continue learning, develop professionally and work with people who genuinely care about what they do. What particularly attracted me was The Berkeley Partnership’s people-focused culture and the emphasis on building strong relationships, both with clients and with each other.
Coming from a hospitality background, I’ve always enjoyed working with people and creating positive experiences, so the opportunity to bring those skills into a different environment really appealed to me. The Berkeley Partnership felt like a place where I could build on what I already know while being challenged to learn something completely new.

2 What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in your career so far?

That you never know where an opportunity might lead you, and being open to new experiences can take you places you never expected. My career so far has taken me from hospitality, to volunteering in Nepal, to working in the United States, and now to The Berkeley Partnership. Each experience has taught me something different about people, communication and adapting to unfamiliar situations. I’ve learned not to be afraid of starting something new. Being willing to put yourself outside your comfort zone can be one of the best ways to grow.

3 What are your values and how have they informed your career?

I’d say my key values are kindness, resilience and curiosity. I think kindness is particularly important when working with people. In hospitality, you meet people from all walks of life, and I learned very quickly that taking the time to listen and understand someone can completely change their experience. Resilience has also been important throughout my career. Working in fast-paced environments has taught me to stay positive, adapt when things don’t go to plan and keep going when things get challenging. Finally, I’m naturally curious. I enjoy learning about new people, places and ways of doing things, which has encouraged me to take opportunities that are outside what I already know.
