1 What’s different about Berkeley for you?

What really feels different about Berkeley is the culture of trust and focus on relationships throughout. From day one, it’s obvious that the people here are passionate about what they do and continually strive to maintain a community which everyone is proud of. The flat organization structure and genuine positivity across the company, creates a space for consultants to focus on delivering excellent work for clients and supporting each other to succeed.

Personally, this translates to me bringing my full self to both Berkeley and to the clients I’m working with. I am supported to bring my full experience to client challenges without being constrained to a single industry or program, allowing me to increase my skills and expertise to become a better and well-rounded consultant for my clients.

2 What types of engagements excite you the most?

Coming from a technology delivery and transformation background, I really enjoy working on programs where there is ambiguity from the outset. Bringing structure, clarity and momentum to a challenging situation is super motivating, especially when we are driving towards an impactful outcome. Programs which involve multiple stakeholders and delivery teams are where I feel I add the most value, whether it’s establishing delivery methods, leading cross-functional teams or supporting leaders to make key decisions. I really enjoy the pace and complexity that these programs bring.

Although a project may not require the support of a consultant across the full end to end, it’s exciting when I get to see the tangible progress and lasting value being received by the client and their stakeholders.

3 What are your values and how have they informed your career?

I’ve been lucky to work with some genuinely inspiring leaders and colleagues over the years who have fundamentally shaped how I work. One of the biggest things I’ve taken from these relationships is importance of supporting and developing others - it’s become a core part of how I work, whether that’s with clients or within the teams I’m part of.

Working with integrity is just as important to me. Being honest, transparent, and striving to do the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest option. In complex programs, that consistency goes a long way in building trust and maintaining strong relationships to allow a project to succeed.
For me, looking out for people and building trust have been a constant throughout my career, and they continue to shape how I work day to day.
