1 What's different about Berkeley for you?
I have been blown away by the calibre of people that I work with at The Berkeley Partnership. Not just in the way in which they engage with clients, or solve difficult problems – but the way in which they truly care about the relationships they make.
Even though “Berkeley" is occasionally only referenced by its first name, the “Partnership” aspect of the company name holds true in every sense of the word. Each individual takes the time to get to know you on a professional and personal level – which has resulted in a level of collaboration and team cohesion that I have not experienced before.
2What types of engagements excite you the most?
My most enjoyable engagements have involved taking concepts from abstract ideas to tangible outcomes. I have taken great pleasure in proving out an idea, which was once some badly drawn squares on a whiteboard – to the basis of the new organizational model for a global construction client’s consultancy business.
I also enjoy the challenge of changing a client’s perception on what a consultant can do for them. In my career to date, I have been involved in 3 global finance transformation remediation projects. As I have first engaged, it is apparent that the client’s previous experience of consultants had left a bad taste in their mouth. While I look back fondly on my ability to deliver on complex engagements, I am the proudest of how I was able to “win back” a number of key client stakeholders and change their perspective on what consultants can do for them.
3What are you passionate about in life?
One of the core values which I have such affinity with at Berkeley, is the strong emphasis placed on maintaining and nurturing relationships. My fiancée, family and friends mean everything to me, and I endeavour to spend as much of my down time creating new memories with those closest to me.
I am fanatical regarding all things Arsenal and all things motorsports. Apologies in advance if you catch me in the lift and I’m talking to you about Mikel Arteta’s off-the ball tactical approach, or the British touring car race I watched on Sunday.
